I have used this designation [this person never married] as a way to mark
those that need no further research for spouse/descendants.  A marker shows
on the family view with this checked that I find helpful.  I agree that the
wording is inelegant.  I would rather it say "this person had no spouse or
children".  However, it is a useful ticker, and maybe someday we can change
the wording so it is more accurate.
