<<How do some of you enter people with unknown names in such a fashion that the word "Unknown" is hardly ever used? Anyone have a strategy for this? I'd love to be able to see a last name, be able to see that it means "unknown" and to whom it applies in most cases.>>
With females, when I don't know their maiden names, I use their married surname, but in parentheses. Ex: Jane (DOE) This way, even if I have several "Janes" that I don't have maiden names for, on a name list I can connect this one with the right family. With men, more often I know their surname, but sometimes not their first name -- and I don't really have a good system for that -- I just list their first name as "Unknown" along with their correct surname. Ex: Unknown DOE I'll be interested in hearing what solutions others have come up with!
