Roger,
Won't it be wonderful if Legacy was ported to Linux?
Is Millennia Corp interested? Is anything in the works?
Has it been tried? I've been told that it doesn't work
in Linux/Wine and works unsatisfactorily in Linux
with Crossover Office.
I agree that it is necessary to shut down any MS OS
once every 24 hours to avoid corruption of programs
and files. I also agree that Linux does not have this
problem, at least to the degree that MS does. I've
heard that Linuxs machines running for a year w/o
cracking.
I notice you use Microsoft Outlook Express 6. Are you
using Linux or MS? I use Thunderbird and MS currently.
One of their extensions shows me what email client you use.

Microsoft is by nature is a very unstable platform and I have found that I
need to turn it off after I save everything I did. I am starting to use
Linux more and more all the time for my photo work, no crashes and it is
always there no mater how long I am away from the machine. Just a thought.

Hi Wendy
I am not sure if the problem that I used to have is the same a yours,
I
have Windows XP and every night upon closing I would put the computer into
hibernation and the next morning I start LEGACY first always and there is
the family group that I was working on when I shut down, if I clicked on
individual view for any body all blank I fought it for weeks even wrote
here
but nothing helped except to shut down LEGACY and restart. Then several
months ago had a computer crash and lost XP computer wizard reinstalled XP
but hibernation will no longer work, so every night I shut down every
thing
[sigh] I also save several times during the day, so now no hibernation and
no blank anything but I miss having ALL my stuff saved via the XP
hibernate
