I'm curious - what mail client are you using?  While I agree that requesting
receipts on a mailing list is rather silly (and something that could be
filtered by the list owner), it also seems to come up here rather frequently
for some people.  I have the option in my software of responding to receipt
requests automatically, or ignoring them completely; wondering if one of
those options might make life more pleasant?

 A lot of the people on this list are completely ignorant about proper
etiquette-otherwise they wouldn't send every damn post with a return reciept
demand. They obviously can not be made to understand that function was NEVER
meant to be used on a mailing list. There is absolutely no reason you need
to know if every single person on this list read your posts. TURN IT OFF
when posting here!! I wish the list administration would ban the people who
insist on using read reciepts here. That is extremely poor etiquette.
