"joined up" about 1 p.m. this afternoon instead of munching thro a huge jar
of pretzels in frustration!

It sounds like the old "off-screen dialog" problem. Shut down Legacy.
Delete Legacy2.usr from your Legacy folder. Then restart Legacy and see
if that fixes the problem.
