Cynthia, unfortunately many compilers use parenthesis, instead of quotes, to indicate a nickname. Your descendants may well read this as Dodd Fergus "William". The parenthesis may help you out in the immediate but could well serve up some real misunderstandings for others.

(William) Dodd FERGUS

When I am in the Index View, I must remember that all of those names beginning with a parenthesi ( will be listed at the end of the alphabet). Other than this one catch I am quite happy with the way it looks and works.
