Kay, If I may: I don't think Ron was saying these events are not significant. There has been much discussion about older "bugs" not being addressed. I think Ron was saying he would like to see those things addressed first.
Ron, please correct me if I am wrong. So, Kay, if I am correct, please don't take his response too harshly. (Hopefully you can re-read his comments in the context he meant it to be read in) I too like the idea of the Icons. I think I might find another way for this implementation to suit my purposes. Thanks for sharing. Glen Ballard -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kay Keating Ron: "Cutesy non value added bells and whistles" is hardly the way I'd describe giving special recognition to ancestors and/or relatives who have made outstanding and significant contributions to our lives and to our country. With the Sailing Ship Icon, I am giving special acknowledgement to brave emigrant ancestors who made the arduous and dangerous ocean voyage to start a new life in this country. With the Military Emblem Icon, I am saying "Thanks" for my ancestor's military service to this country. Anyone who has put their life on the line for me deserves a salute in my book. I'm sorry, you consider giving credit where credit is due is of no value and not substantive. What is the point in compiling a genealogy? Is anyone going to read endless pages of b&w text reciting dates and places? A little colored Icon draws a reader's attention to extraordinary people. I'm happy to see there are others on this list who want to acknowledge ancestors who made valuable and substantive contributions to their lives. Kay Keating =============================================== Sorry but I would much rather see the developers put the resources into correcting all of the outstanding problems/issues with the program. I think the program has enough cutesy non value added bells and whistles. Legacy is falling behind the programs that are adding substance not bells and whistles. > > > Ron Bernier Enter the drawing for a FREE Legacy Cruise to Alaska or a FREE research trip to Salt Lake's Family History Library.
