That may be what it says, but is on our Medicare cards and all tax related
communications with the IRS and SS Admin.  Try to go to a doctor or hospital
and not use it.....or get a credit card, open a bank account or get
insurance.  It is a unique set of numbers that sets us apart from all the
other persons who go by our name, and is required all too often in my way of
thinking.
