Hi Diane,
As Elizabeth mentioned in an earlier post on photos, if you ever want
to copy your photos and scanned docs and send them to someone who
shares only one line with you, it might be easier if you have filed
these images by Surname, rather than by type.

I personally have my folders in Legacy's Pictures folder, each one
with a different Surname. Within the surname folder, I sometimes have
a sub-folder I call Sources, where I put some scans of certificates or
censuses that are particularly interesting. I try to name my image
files by MaidenSurname-MarriedSurname-GivenName-Event[if
applicable]-date[in yyyy-mm-dd format]. But I haven't been consistent,
and I will probably change. Some will suggest you use all small
letters and no spaces (you can use dashes), and I would echo that if
you haven't started yet.
