If you have preferences set to show small icons, perhaps changing to display
large icons would make the color easier to see.

Hi Mary,
    Yes, I can tell that the unused icons are b/w but the used
icons are so light in color it is hard for me to tell the
difference. Until I hear how to do it I have changed the panel
and data box colors so they are much lighter. The contrast is
better now but a little harder on the old eyes.
