I do have the deluxe edition. I know it will fill in any unused numbers, but I 
want to start over with me as # 1 and work logically back. As it is, the 
numbers in there now are in order of how she entered the data. If I use Geoff's 
filing system, I will have so many numbered files empty, because I have no 
physical evidence of these long ago ancestors. I thank you for the suggestion 
of exporting to a GEDCOM file, but I don't want to take the chance of messing 
up the notes etc. that sometimes don't come back in the same way as they were 
in Legacy.
