Marie, I have admittedly not yet used the Source Clipboard.
Hi, Gary --
I didn't think much of the source clipboard, either, until I actually
played with it a bit and asked questions here. Now, there's nothing I
want to do that I can't do with it.
Someone's already pointed out that you can save ten entries, but also you
can go back to a citation and copy that to the source clipboard, just in
case you're needing one that you didn't think to save as one of the ten.
I use a little more detail in my Master Sources. For instance I don't use
a generic "death certificate" as a master source. (I don't worry too much
about space issues --perhaps that will come up to bite me in the future,
but for now I have plenty of space, though it has gotten to the point
where I'm considering a separate external hard drive for my research for
convenience.)
One thing that does bother me (and there's probably a simple solution to
this, too, but I haven't bothered to investiate it yet) is when you pull
up the list of individuals who use a master source ("show list"), you
can't just click on a name in the list and be taken to that individual.
You have to close all the windows and go find them.
I'm still messing with it (the source clipboard) and working out how I
want to use it, but I'm really happy now that I've learned how this tool
works.
