It's a way of avoiding just discussing my personal opinions. To practice what I preach, I must actively seek high quality books and articles that tend to *refute* my opinions. This is the only honest way. So if you think that evolution or global warming are dubious propositions, I invite you to correct me by referencing high-class books or scholarly articles that refute my views. But be warned, feeble sound bites will not suffice. OTOH, I have already reference three books that disconfirm *your* notion that evolution is bogus. If you are intellectually honest, you must treat these disconfirming data very seriously.
