Since Xiaofan hasn't intervened yet, I'll just point out that we have an 
implementation of a Benchmark device for PIC and AVR, that could come 
handy for such tests [1]. This is mostly used for libusbK, but in case 
you are undecided on the kind of target devices you could use for 
libusbx tests, I thought I'd mention that one.

Sounds good to me, though we don't yet have means to find out if a 
libusbx compatible driver has been installed on Windows or not. Another 
of the many things we want to implement in a future version...

Unless I'm mistaken, the preference would be to send the patches as 
attachment to the mailing list, as it makes it easier for a larger 
audience to have a look at it. This being said, if you're more 
comfortable with git repos, that can work too.
