Interesting idea. I'll have to try that next time I'm on a box with real
hardware hipersockets. 

One thing you would lose in that configuration would be any packet
filtering or firewall capabilities you might want between the rude Linux
world and z/OS's sheltered existence. 

Still, it's an elegant idea, and worth experimenting with. I'll let you
know if it works.
