I'm with Marcy in that I'd like to hear what happens if you take the default 
MAC that CP gives you.  I tried to replicate what you're seeing on a z/VM 5.1 
guest, but the MAC I put in (101095, same as you did) got ignored and it was 
registered with a MAC of 02:00:00:00:00:01.  (Whatever response the installer 
was expecting wasn't seen either, since after that I went into a loop on 
"Please select the type of your network device.")
