Sounds a little like our Red Hat rep who told our Linux guys yesterday that IBM is likely to get rid of z/VM in favor of KVM, because "why would IBM want to support multiple virtualization platforms". This kind of misinformation from reps at these vendors sure make it hard to sell mainframe Linux as a solution internally. Simple statements like these to the wrong people are nearly irreversibly damaging.
