How about just telling the truth sometime, you pile of shit?
By the way, this was just what happened. You as the great Wintendo expert
surely know how to use a search engine, right? Do you really think that I
would waste my time any further than necessary with someone like you just
to search for an URL? Try kidding someone else, Chad Myers for example.
He is about in the same league as you, will say, about as dumb.

No, there was no sarcasm. There was just BS in big heaps.
I do not believe that you ever just saw the really big stuff. Those boxes
where just the CPU´s, the memory and the IO-processors needed several
square-meters. You keep telling us how wonderful those Wintendo-boxes are.
You just don´t realize that they are toys. Even the Win-DC boxes are
simply just toys compared even to todays bigger unix-boxes, let alone the
big iron. You know nothing. Nothing of interest, that is.

On the subject of Xemacs. On DOS I used to use Multi-Edit. I have not
used it for a long time now, but I remember it as a comfortable and
efficient editor, unlike any editor that I use today (lets face it, VI
is insanely unintuitive). Does anyone know if Multi Edit is in any way
'related' to Xemacs or Emacs?

I was convinced that because I could see no faults with Windows that there

that appears after several hours - so it could be I see everything working

So you're saying Windows 98/ME copes better with memory problems? 8)

I have a Compaq Presario 1235 laptop which has those "recovery" disks.
I've only had to re-install one time, and it was not an easy task -
because of the learning curve along with the need to have driver
(touchpad/video) disks handy - which I didn't know at the time. And
then there's the useless add-ons that need to be culled out of the
"basic install". For the future, I plan to rely totally on "Drive
Image".
The basic Windows install on a desktop PC? Not a big deal - but, what I
object to most is the endless re-starts/re-boots during both basic OS
and application installs. I installed Windows in my wife's machine the
other day. I stopped counting re-boots after number 20. That is
absolutely senseless.
Linux is much, much easier to install than that "goat rope". Now, if I
only can get the ipchains and security "down pat", then phooey on
Windows.
