Sorry if the response is a little flaming, but I don't think that owning licenses of MS is the business of anybody. > And do you bloat up the price of your Linux system by bying an MS license, Unfortunately, most of the PC's are shipped these days with a "built-in" license for Win. In addition, some of us receive legal copies of the various versions of Win from MS. And in addition, many deals and packages (like a dial-up account in ISP) include a license as a gift. In addition to all of this, sometimes old PC's die, but the license of the Win which was installed on them is still alive. Of course, I could contribute licenses as a charity, instead of using them for very uncommon and rare cases, but as I wrote above, it should not be the the business of anybody. But even spending $90-$200 for a legal copy, doesn't look so strange for me these days, when mediocre lawyers charge $200 per a hour, a simple car cost 100,000 NIS, and the costs of employing a programmer are 40,000 NIS per a month. I'm miser, but not so extreme. > too ? I think you shoot a bit beside the target here, I never ever met a > system where Window helped me with HW diagnostics when I couldn't do it > with Linux. Usually Windows is much worse (and you can't boot a Windows > off a CDROM like you can boot Linux !). Exacly. This is why a special bootable partition is needed. You've got the point. P.S. "Bli Nedder", I'll make a summary of the other responses when I'll have time. ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
