Yes. Otherwise how this mail will reach the mailing list. I am relaying all
my mails through www.dempos.com.

To back up, or to copy between filesystem/ directory with out
loosing any info on the files/dirs do:
$(tar cvf - /backup-path) | ( cd /where-to-copy; tar xvf - )
This is also suitable for backups on tapes.
