i'm not sure of that, as i am running a kde free environment on
mandrake. i installed only the gtk graphical applications, and knocked
off all qt stuff. so i hope the inverse should also be true.
and secondly, mandrake is more of a desktop centric distribution, aimed
at home users, with many extra games, drake tools, and a few things
redhat does not provide. this is good for the home user, till they don't
want any upgrades, and if they start out to upgrade any package, chances
are they'll get into a serious dependency hell. and that is my main prob
with mandrake. yu just can't escape it unless you compile the packages
yourself.
