Yea, I'm planning on making another run at this one.  I've got some ideas on
the Sony side to try..

Also, some possibles:

a) IrPPP from clarinetsys (has clarinetsys documented this one?)
b) Ultra protocol for IrLAP (see the IrMC specs)
c) Belkin/Crystal dongle support (got to get one first..)
d) IrCOMM/centronics support, using the generic lpt code in 2.3.xx  (that way,
you can use PLIP instead of IrLAN.. )
