Ok here's the story so far.....
I've downloaded linux-2.4.0-test10.tgz
I've extracted and patched with test11-pre3.gz all works ok... no errors :-)
I run make xconfig:
Code maturity level: Yes
Realtek TRL-8139 PCI fast ethernet Adapter Support: Yes
IRDA subsystem support: M
IRLan Protocol: N
IRNet Protocol: N
IRComm Protocol: M
Ultra: N
IRDA Protocol options: N
Irtty: M
IrPort: M
Everything else as defaults
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
- have to edit makefile so that -F is -m for the system.map
I then copy the Sytem.map file to /boot/System.map-2.4.0-test11
I configure lilo using linuxconf...
all goes well..I've done this a few times now and previously works fine
However with this kernel...
I select it at the boot prompt. and it loads the kernel and then freezes...
Any ideas????
please all I want to do is be able to ir link my palm the hotsync
Thanks
