I'm not that familiar with serial handling to be sure. I'd think, however,
that this claim might be reasonable as long as we've got no
number-crunching offloaded to the processor. Processes waiting for serial
ports do block, don't they, when there's nothing being received? On a
decent system, we'd just preempt them and go on doing whatever else we
were doing.

Find marketing claims with no hard numbers behind them quite questionable.
But that's me :-)
