I guess the best solution to all of these evil WINMODEMS would be
to go back to the old EXTERNAL modems.   Not that I am 
saying everyone should sell their internal modems, but I find that
its easier with external modems because I don't know of any non-
standard, external WINMODEMS ( please correct me).  They all use
the standard serial interface on the backs of computers, so I/O
addresses and IRQs shouldn't be that much of a problem.  Would
that explain the reason that their are more external CSU/DSUs that
internal ones ?  External modems are more machine and OS
independent, and that's how why they are designed that way....
Sorry but the rant, but its a solution....
