I got my RedHat 5.2 distro with KDE 1.0 from "Lehmanns Fachbuchhandlung"
in Berlin, Germany and the booklet in the CD box says that KDE can be made
to be the default desktop for a user by logging in as that user and cd to
/opt/kde/bin (uhhh, i think i told u just /opt/kde in my first reply, sorry
for that). As superuser (root) it can be done with usekde <username> for
each user or with a usekde without parameters for the whole system.
I did what i was told and it worked fine, but upgraded to KDE1.1.1 some
time ago and it still works without any problem.

Hmmm, as my mighty booklet says, the file .Xclients will be created for
the first time by using usekde. Dunno if it is really like that.

Great ! I enjoy KDE since i got it working.

Yea, it was damn easy, that's why i could do it, hehehe. I just wonder if
a RH 5.2 is not always a RH 5.2 - looks like that there are different
versions depending on where and from whom it is bought. Pretty strange,
isn't it ?
