Strange, I sent it between 7AM and 8AM this morning (6 May 2000). My
clock / offset must be wrong.

"satisfied users"

Concur, but I wanted to prioritise, and I think printers are a potential
problem because of the range of devices.

CONFIG_USB=y
CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y
CONFIG_USB_UHCI=y
CONFIG_USB_OHCI=y
CONFIG_USB_HID=y
CONFIG_INPUT_KEYBDEV=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV=y
and maybe:
CONFIG_INPUT_EVDEV=y
if the X server depends on it.

My personal opinion. I am not sure about the USA, but USB is
substantially more expensive for HID type devices in Australia. That is
less of an issue with devices like Zip250 and LS120 where the additional
cost is marginal for the additional functionality and speed.

I avoided this because many of the most popular devices are not
supported yet.

Interesting that they chose one particular technology as the key to
desktop. I personally think that KDE and Gnome are more important, but
of course they don't appear in the kernel...
