So much for compiling from source....the latest nVidia driver RPM did the trick. I think the driver from APC mag was a bit older, so didn't like my GF2. 2D is also MUCH faster now, as well as 3D working good...
I can run Chromium at 1024*768, high detail, and get around 25 fps. I'm more than happy with that, since its only a GF2 MX200...I'll keep saving for a mobo with AGP, and GF4/Radeon 9x00 for Q3 Arena etc...

Beware any kernel upgrade will probably kill it again. In this case you will have to download the source rpm from nvidia and compile it.
