Yes; imap-2001a-18 to be exact. So now I at least know to look at http://www.washington.edu/imap/ might be a possibility. Thanks.


I agree with the other poster about a misconfigured mail client.

That wouldn't explain the fact that the telnet approach doesn't work tho.


Also are you trying to pop root's mailbox?

I've tried both root and my own username.
