Bingo! That's why I'm having trouble... I killed inetd - that is it
doesn't get started during bootup because I wasn't running any services
that required it before this. I'll have to play around with this some
more...

I can see me doing this but I sure couldn't see some of my users doing
it for some reason...

Well, until I either free up some disk space or get another drive I'll
be trying this out on slackware first. (I thought I had some old drives
I could use but it tured out that all I had was some door stops ;-).
