It may just be that the drivers for the mother board were not loaded from
the motherboard CD properly. First try running this once again. They are
usually automatic but can just miss one part of the load.

Also, don't rule out a bad CPU if its a new build. On my last build it
ran memtest86 flawlessly, entered BIOS without a hitch, but would not
boot a Knoppix CD, would not install Windows XP, and would not even boot
up the Western Digital Diagnostic CD. When I swapped out the CPU,
everything worked fine.
