The quality of the distro (Fedora) is not in doubt, as it is obviously
a top-notch product released by a major supplier of enterprise solutions
(Red Hat). That being said, in my opinion, the documentation is much
better for Ubuntu as is the forum support. It is also my opinion that
there is more free compatible software available from Debian and or
Ubuntu, with ample installation documentation.

Many of the things available for Ubuntu are certainly workable in
Fedora, it simply takes more time and tweaking to get them to work as
well.

I am told Fedora might become a bit more codec friendly in the near
future. That would certainly improve usability.

Mepis, I believe is as user friendly as Ubuntu, but last I checked it
was solely KDE based, which I find less stable and easy to use than
Gnome.
