The episode starts off with some background on Setsuna.  He's got a pretty screwed up history, which appears to at least partially explain why he's so emotionally closed off.

Ali is Evil with a capital 'E'.  In a show that so far has shown everyone in, at worst, a cynical light, Ali is the one character that we've seen to date that needs to be stepped on by a Gundam.  Money appears to be everything to him, and ordering the slaughter of innocents as part of an initiation for trainees doesn't appear to be a problem for him.  Also worth noting - he told an official to watch for an upcoming broadcast.  And shortly afterwards, we saw the terrorist attacks, with the resulting news broadcasts.  The suggestion is that he's linked to the attacks in some fashion.

Another interesting note - Setsuna made the connection between Ali and his past based on both the voice and the fighting style.  Ali started to make the connection based on the fighting style, but then dismissed it out of hand as "thinking too much".  Is there reason for Ali to be confident that all of the boys he trained were killed?  Or is he just not interested in trying to think it through?

Exia's power plant - During the fight, when Setsuna's emotions triggered, the Exia's power plant appeared to briefly become supercharged.  Was this somehow linked to Setsuna's emotional state?  Or was this something that Setsuna manually triggered?

And, of course, the big question in this episode - Who are the terrorists?

Next episode - Setsuna and Marina meet.
