I think you're right, although I don't recall for certain.  And that's not the sort of thing that translators should screw up (even poor quality ones).  It's possible given Setsuna's background (i.e. no family still alive, and his home devestated in the war) that it wasn't seen as necessary to give him a codename to conceal his identity.  His name definitely isn't Middle-Eastern, but that's never been an absolute requirement in an anime series (though this one seems to have done a better job in that department than most).

Wasn't Setsuna's mother blabbering his name when she was holding her
husband. Was it a bad translation that I saw?
