Yes, it was nice to see some tactics used within the episode (instead of the usual "The Gundams blow up everything in their path!"). But the second half of the episode still felt lacking in the storytelling department.
And yes, Sergei's great. Hopefully he survives the series.
We've talked about Marina's title before, and I put forward the theory that I'm sticking to until I hear something different. Typically people in that part of the world are organized according to clans and tribes. It's possible that the head of each major family is a "prince" or "princess". If Marina is the head of her family, then her elevation to the position of ruler of Azadistan would make her the dominant princess, or "First Princess". Since that would be her official title, that's the one she would use to greet the UN delegation.
I don't really see the Conservative vs. Reformist fight being relevant to the episode. All that we see is the UN arriving, and we don't see any other part of the country. Four months can be an eternity, but it can also be a very short period of time. And it's quite reasonable to believe that the country hasn't degenerated any further than what we saw when Marina was introduced.

Actually I kind of enjoy the symmetric action. For the first time, it
feels like CB is not invincible. For the first (Sergei) and second
(Sumeragi) time, someone demonstrates tactical thinking. (I am not
counting Sumeragi's and Wong's previous exploits because it felt they
could have just phoned it in and let the Ubergundams do the
hack-and-slash.
Every time I see Sergei I like him a little bit more. And even Soma,
she's so inhumanly cool!
And Marina! One minute she's a "Your Majesty", next minute "I am the
first Princess". Well a Princess is styled "Your Highness", a Queen
"Your Majesty" perhaps there's a translation problem there. I don't
even know if there's a clear way to translate "Your Highness" and
"Your Majesty" into Japanese. And why would someone introduce herself
as "FIRST Princess"??? In order to remind the other person that her
royal title was fabricated out of thin air? That's screwed up. Could
it be that "First Princess" is actually her title? Like "First
Violinist" or "First Lieutenant". Either way, this scene is pretty
solid proof that she is the (figure)head of state, whether she be a
Princess, First Princess or Queen. What happened to that Conservative
v. Reformist row? Another forgotten dangle?
