I know, but I think with him being an engineer or what not for the second part of the show is better - just having him being a pilot with no experience in the background sounds worse. I don't know about the Thrones, but the original Meister certainly have way more "qualification" to be a pilot then Saji. He has motivation, yes, but skills? It's one of those posted "speculation" that usually sounds pretty close to what happen - they have been calling for Saji's sister death a while. Besides, with the way he think nows, I think even himself consider dying for his cause is probably better, as he is way too revenge driven.
