Tieria used "Boku", which as I recall from my Japanese language classes, is a
term for 'I' that's used pretty much exclusively by males. Even though I'm
somewhat in the know about the useage of the term, I still might not have
noticed it if it hadn't been for the fact that Shinsen flagged it in their sub.
I haven't exactly been paying attention to what he's used prior to now since
it's a complete non-issue in English (i.e. the only differences in the various
versions of the first person pronoun are related to grammer and sentence
construction).

Yes, it's true that Kinue was alive when we last saw her. But she'd also lost
a lot of blood (that was a pretty big pool underneath her). In the real world,
I think she'd need to pretty much have the transfusion equipment right there in
order to survive all of that blood loss (I vaguely remember hearing in my Boy
Scouts first aid training that while it takes six minutes for a person to
asphyxiate, bleeding to death can happen even faster). I suspect that Saji's
going to get the bad news in the next episode.

Ahh... that's why Lockon mumbled something huh? N-sub didn't clarify
other than putting double quotes around "I". pfff... let me try Alta
Vista on Wiki:

What a mess... guess it's impossible to understand without a lifetime
of culture immersion. Suffice now to note that it's a second(?) hint
that Tieria is (or becoming?) not human.

Oh BTW, Kinue might be dead, but not certifiable yet, AFAIK.
