Increasing the exposure of JaxLug either through Facebook, Twitter, Google+,

whoever (already a member of JaxLug) has the time, energy and inclination to
maintain them.
Problem is when there is a lack of time to maintain and things end up
becoming stale. In that event more exposure is not a good thing. Like
for example the JaxLUG Facebook page is months out of date. What good
does that do anyone?
If the maintainer needs help or input from the group then
they should ask.
If we ever find out who they are. I am really starting to think someone
or entity outside the JaxLUG created the JaxLUG account and page on
Facebook.
I created the JaxLUG page on Facebook awhile back & made several JaxLUG folks
Facebook Page Admins in hopes it would catch on. IIRC, William, Rob, Pat, Mark,
Kyle, Gene and a few others who were active at the time... Sorry if it has
become stale, but anyone who is experienced with maintaining group 'pages' on
facebook will know that a lot changed from FBv1 to v2 and they broke a few
things. As I have little time to keep up with these things, we can simply grant
access to the FB admin group to some freshmeat & socially adept young JaxLUG
folks who grok these things.
JaxLUG Facebook Page - ( iirc, once we get 50-100 likes a permalink will be
available, we are at 48)

I really just wanted a place to keep track of my JaxLUG friends & promote the
group on Facebook. Google+ would also be another PR avenue we should have a
presence on. IMO, it doesn't detract from the JaxLUG wiki, and may steer some
new traffic that way. We used to have an IRC channel, but that required ops &
admin time too. I've just added Mike Rathburn, Paul Tiseo and Donald Cowart to
the group. BTW, William you never accepted the JaxLUG FB Admin invite. If it was
blocked by spam filters, send me your preferred FB email addy off list & I'll
resend. -Cheers, Art@JAX
