I'm seeing "smoke" units appearing in stores now for Halloween. Seen in 
Walmart, costume stores, should be in Targets by now, too. They cost about 
$20 and the juice is about $10. They put out 1500-2000 cuft/min.

These are different from the ones we use in film work, as they basically 
produce a steam of glycol and water, (the expensive film prod units create a 
cool mist) so you have to be careful where the spray is pointed. You'll need 
2-3 ft away from anything that steam would damage. But your engine 
compartment sounds pretty big so I imagine you can find a way to make it 
work for your test.
