I wouldn't bet the farm on the above. If you average 50 miles/day working your way south, 3-4 days and you are approaching 200 miles, which if starting from L Ontario, puts you somewhere in Virginia.(Warmer weather, more sun, etc) The potential problem becomes self limiting and takes care of itself.
