Norm, that is total bullshit.. let me be blunt.... liveaboards have not been

excluded... that is your imagination...there have been open meetings
in places like FORT MYERS, marathon and key west.. Miami..
and so on.. OPEN as in the public that includes those who live on thier
boats.. who have had the chance, and taken it to comment..

The results we label as encouraging are due in large part to the
boating community, that includes those who live on thier vessels,
speaking up and speaking up loudly.. and to those, like me and many others,
who could not attend the meetings taking that few minutes to go to the
FWC website to offer commentary, either pro or con, to the FWC...
which they DID read.. last time I checked the FWC was into the
7th draft of the ordinance.. '

Current press release.. what is says is fairly accurate as far as why they
are attempting to make a uniform set of rules..

http://myfwc.com/boating/
halfway down the page is a box with more on the anchoring situation
there is a powerpoint demo... it is worth reading.. it proves
they have been listening to us...

and finallyt from that page itself. this comment..
Stakeholders and interested parties can also submit comments,
recommendations, and solutions relevant to Vessel Management, Anchoring, and
Mooring issues to: [email protected].

So now I say this... do not complain here... go complain and comment there..
<---generic comment
and coment, and comment.. let the FWC know your feelings and opinions..
florida does not have an income tax as many know. We pay a lot of our taxes
as a usage
tax on goods and services in the state. Therefore by proxy, you are a
florida taxpayer
especially if you are domicled in the state (norm are you domiciled in
florida its cheap and easy to do) and therefore as a domiciled floridian..
(as well as property owner, via my trust) I have plenty of right to say
something...
I especially urge those who live out of state to comment... our laws, just
as yours, affect each and every boater who comes to our, or your,state..
We are all in this together folks... for good or bad, for the future of
boating everywhere... so goes florida, goes the rest of the east coast..
Maryland who has so much coastline.. is watching to see how the whole
anchoring thing goes.. so comment please..

'bella slips the soapbox back into the lazarette
and starts to paint her overhead..
'b.

It's not about the boat it's sails or rigging. It's about the freedom.
