I know I'm a hardend FreeBSD user but for some reason network performance on
my 505 VAIO is awful (it's fine under the dreaded MS OS).

I was wondering if anyone fancied getting their favourite brand of linux
working on it. Requirements are that PCMCIA works as I want to get the
wavelan card working.

Ideally I'd like to give this a go Thursday evening over a couple of beers (or
beverage of your choice), assuming we can rustle up a power socket.

Any takers?

Neil.
(who is having a go at installing RH6.2 as he types this but isn't hopefull.)
