I've almost finished the very first version.
The intention is to create something that works,
then I'll through it out to you lot to laugh at
and then look at improvements.
I am considering that this module will be very
general and must be used within other code,
e.g. as a support module rather than a
completed end to end system.
So rough development plan is:
Version 1
- Be dependant on Apache::Session and MySQL.
- Require validation of the basket to be
handled externally (but have easy methods for
removing items from the basket).
- Handle multiple baskets.
- Require the session id to be maintained
externally, e.g. set / read as a cookie.
Version 2
- Add method for retrieving id
(e.g. login and password of some form)
- Remove dependency on Apache::Session
- Generating session id
- Storage method
- Add ability to mung the basket (e.g. get total cost)
Version 3
- Integration of external methods for validation.
- System for generating reports on information
in the shopping baskets (e.g. number of users,
av number of items per user etc..).
I'll give you all the nod when I've put something up.
