At $current_job I don't have anything in production, so it doesn't really matter. So I'm quite happy to do the build systems and testing for my C and C++ with perl scripts and modules running on 5.8.0. I like 5.8.0 because doesn't have a sucky Unicode implementation I like 5.005_03 because doesn't have a sucky Unicode implementation Neither seem to have bugs that I run into, or can provoke trivially. I prefer 5.8.0 because it can open my $filehandle ... Of all the useful new features, that's the only one I really like enough to warrant picking a recent perl version. Nicholas Clark
