Hi This is not strictly an LTSP issue, but I'm sure that someone using LTSP in a school must have been here before so...
Has anyone solved the following Mozilla configuration issue? I'm rolling out 120 LTSP clients in a school. When the kids run Mozilla I want to ensure that a clean set of preferences is used (e.g. correct proxy server settings, and pointing the disk cache to somewhere in /tmp so the caching happens on the server rather than to their nfs mounted home directory). Even if the kids change important values during a session, potentially rendering their browser 'broken', rerunning the software will fix it. Amongst the problems are: I can't just copy in a known good copy of the .mozilla directory and hack a few files because of the annoying binary appreg file which contains the full pathname of where their mozilla profile is stored. If I let them run mozilla once with some sensible defaults so that mozilla sets up an appreg file, it's still hard to copy prefs.js or user.js into their profile because mozilla invents a random string for the name of the directory containing their profile. So, if anyone has been there before and solved the problem, please let me know what you did!
