I apologize for dropping the ball on this project. Luckily Jim spoke to my
LUG over the weekend, and I'm on the case again. I contacted Don Marti at
Linux Journal. He gave me a contact at IDG, LinuxWorld's promoter. That
person referred me to Brooke Selby in the IDG PR department
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

I asked Brooke the following questions late last night, and I'm waiting for
her reply:

1. Do you have an estimate of how many media people will be using the
pressroom at any given time?
2. What are the journalists needs?
3. What kind of connection to the Internet is installed in the pressroom?
Cable, DSL, T1, ISDN, 56k dial-up? Local area network connection to
Internet through gateway? What speed is the local area network?
4. How big is the pressroom? Can you send me digital pictures of the
pressroom?
5. How many power outlets are there? What is the total capacity of the
electrical service?
6. What computer equipment already exists in the pressroom?

I informed Brooke that our idea is to provide a temporary LTSP based local
area network in the pressroom. The equipment will be loaned specifically
for that purpose and will be removed at the end of the show. I emphasized
this would be an all-volunteer effort of the LTSP community. There is no
funding, no corporate sponsorship, no giveaways to IDG.
