Yes. When XFCE starts up, it makes private copies of a system reference xfce?rc and puts it in ~/.xfce - which the user can then change. To prevent (or mitigate) this, I would put a script in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d that performed this copy every time - like this :- #! /bin/sh # # /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/xfce - Overwrite xfce menus on login - run as user # cp /etc/X11/xfce/xfce3rc ~/.xinitrc # # end of script for xfce3 - xfce4 is out now We like the kids to 'own' their own desktop - but I can imagine for an iCafe this would be useful.
