Melvin, There are 2 parts to tftp.
The server and the client. It looks like you have installed the client, but NOT the server. look for a package that starts with tftp-server Also, just installing it doesn't make it start running. You'll need to edit /etc/xinetd.d/tftp and make sure it says 'disable = no'. Then, restart xinetd or reboot.
