Jason, The little piece of magic you need, is an entry called 'next-server' in the dhcpd.conf file. Assuming you are using ISC dhcp on that server.
With that parameter, you can tell the client where to go and download the kernel from. Of course, don't forget to set the root-path entry to point to the proper NFS server too.
