Your right Richard really depends on who is looking at the site. *most*
being the operative word you used, I'd like to say that you have fallen bait
to the stereotyping lot; I have participated in the poll.

There is a lot of stereotyping (both self and gender role) hampering the
ladies from joining the IT industry, there is a lot of laziness as well and
no it doesn't have to do with "getting rich men", else how would you explain
their existence in the other various sectors.

I attribute the laziness to the "kick to run" attitude ladies have; they
won't keep up the pace with the fast and ever changing and challenging IT
industry, so they resort to what they *think* are less challenging careers.

The fact that a number of ladies (in this part of the world) are exposed a
little late to IT and all that comes along with it, may explain why they
generally have no interest in IT, this is why the totally have no interest
in the field, they don't understand it, thus other than take time to study
and understand this strange IT industry they distance themselves.

I think failure to balance crazy work hours and family life is a potentially
damaging mindset that has unfortunately been taken up by a number of young
ladies around.

Joan.
